Developments found on the platform can originate from d.velop partners, d.velop itself, as well as customers and external developers.

When was d.velop founded?

Christoph Pliete and Thilo Gukelberger laid the foundation for today’s d.velop AG in 1992 with the founding of engineering firm Pliete und Gukelberger I.P.G. GbR. One year later, they converted the GbR into a GmbH – a limited liability company. Their product was d.3ecm – a digital archive and document/workflow management solution. The name d.velop was officially used for the first time on 23 October 1996. This was the day Pliete and Gukelberger founded d.velop EDV-Systemlösungen-Verwaltungs-GmbH and d.velop EDV-Systemlösungen GmbH & Co. KG, which took over the marketing of their established successful product.

d.velop became a public limited company on 1 January 2000. d.velop AG, which is not listed on the stock exchange, was created through a merger of d.velop EDV-Systemlösungen GmbH & Ko. KG, Verwaltungs-GmbH, and I.P.G. GmbH.

Aside from the established portfolio of ECM (Enterprise Content Management) products for integrative information management, document management, archiving and workflow management, d.velop also offers products for digital document delivery, digital signing, AI-based automation of document-related processes e.g., incoming supplier invoices, and digital contract management, as well as tools to integrate employees in business processes through flexible, mobile, and remote-access capabilities.
