d.velop is creating solutions for Microsoft’s new knowledge management system ‘Project Cortex’

Based on the established product line d.velop for Microsoft 365, the software manufacturer announces enhancements and apps, making it possible to exploit the full potential of the new Microsoft knowledge management platform.

As a certified Microsoft partner for many years, the ECM expert d.velop AG has been in close contact with the developers of the new platform for Microsoft 365 right from the start.

On November 4, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a new product in his keynote speech at the Ignite conference. Closing the missing functional gap in digital knowledge management under microsoft 365, the new product is expected to be available from mid-2020 on.

As a long-standing Microsoft partner, d.velop is permanently involved in close coordination with the Redmont-based software company. This also includes the development of supplementary solutions for the project with the working title “Project Cortex”. The new cloud platform supplements Office 365 with knowledge management functionalities and offers AI-supported recording of information as well as an automatically generated, transparent representation of existing corporate knowledge.

With this background, d.velop contributes inbound components, plug-ins with practical, value-added micro services, connectors and interfaces to leading ERP and CRM applications for the platform. Solutions for specific use cases in compliance with national and international regulatory requirements are clearly in the foreground.

“In the tradition of the product line d.velop for Office 365, we will offer legally compliant services and solutions for digital business processes based on Microsoft technologies that enhance the functional scope of ‘Project Cortex’ and supplement it in the sense of simple usability for users”, explains Rainer Hehmann, CTO at d.velop.

With d.velop for Office 365, d.velop has been offering successful Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for the strategic Office 365 platform for years. The positive experiences from previous work and the deep understanding of Microsoft technologies will ensure the rapid availability of specific enhancements. Additionally, an extension of the Microsoft search to further information sources like external ECM repositories is planned.

“We assume that we will be able to come up with our first own developments to complement the Microsoft platform in a meaningful way in time for the announced product launch in mind-2020”, Hehmann is optimistic.
