dvelop forum 2023 main stage

It’s done: After three years without on-site events, a d.velop forum finally took place again on May 24th. We say THANK YOU, because around 1,000 people took part. A huge success in our opinion. That’s more participants than ever before and we were happy about every single registration.

There was a total of 40 speakers and over 20 lectures on 6,500 square meters. For those who couldn’t attend and experience all the exciting things that happened at AREAL BÖHLER. This blog article will provide you with the highlights of the event.

On the chairs, ready – go!

At 9.30 a.m., our moderator Stefan Olschewski, enchanted and opened the d.velop forum 2023 with inspiring words. As usual, he guided the participants through the event and clearly enjoying the big stage atmosphere – our podium has never been so big!

A journey with Magnus Lindkvist

The first keynote belonged to Magnus Lindkvist, trend spotter, author and futurologist, who was able to directly inspire the d.velop forum 2023 with his presentation “The Future Begins”. He questioned the way we think about the future and took us on a journey, showing in a fun way what trends are ahead of us and how we can actively take charge of our own future.

Technology is merely an extension of human imagination, not a substitute for it.

Fränzi Kühne on New Work and digitisation

As a further keynote we were allowed to give a stage to Fränzi Kühne, entrepreneur, author and CDO of edding AG. Her topic: “Mastering Digital Transformation: How New Work and digitisation really work in a company.” In her presentation, she highlighted the differences between the start-up she founded, TLGG, and a structured company like edding AG. She illustrated how important it is that companies reinvent themselves and actively participate in digitisation.

You have to be up for change. You have to be in the mood for everything to keep turning.

Franzi Kühne

Fränzi also addressed the “Thomas problem”. It is a mathematical thought experiment in game theory. In short, it makes it clear that a Thomas hires more and more Thomas’s, which makes it much more difficult for women in particular to get into management positions. Of course, she also gave important tips on how women and men can counteract this problem.

You can already look forward to an interview with Fränzi Kühne, which will soon appear in the d.velop blog! So, it’s best to subscribe to the d.velop blog directly and don’t miss anything anymore.

Sebastian Evers and Rainer Hehmann: The Innovation Spotlight is on

A special highlight this year was the Innovation Spotlight, where we welcomed the two co-CEOs and board members of d.velop AG Rainer Hehmann and Sebastian Evers on stage.

The very hot topic of artificial intelligence also found its place on the stage. The d.velop software products should also be easier and more efficient to use in the future – through solid pilot projects that make the advantages of artificial intelligence tangible.

What the future will bring even more are cloud-based SaaS products instead of dedicated servers. Since trust plays a major role in this area, you have to be particularly knowledgeable on the topics of protection against cybercrime and reliability. d.velop has been using the Open Telekom Cloud, which maintains the advantages of European security and data protection regulations.

The innovation d.velop trust spaces was totally in the spotlight. Sebastian introduced the new product, which aims to reduce security risks and enable companies to collaborate and connect across organisations. Documents can be easily exchanged and shared.

The d.velop process studio was developed to make processes understandable and accessible for everyone. Complex processes can be mapped and modelled and integrated into relevant business applications. It represents a solution that can be operated intuitively and seamlessly finds its place in everyday work.

Now it’s time to discuss … and transform

The panel discussion this year at the d.velop forum 2023 was as ever popular. Present were, Christina Elbert, Vice President Product Sales, d.velop, Markus Kellermann, Head of Technology Centre DAK-Gesundheit, Fränzi Kühne, entrepreneur, author, speaker, CDO edding AG and Niklas Hemmann, processes and digitalisation at MeinAuto Group AG.

Christina Elbert led the discussion with the key question “How do organisations manage to network digitally?”. The participants dealt intensively with such a big question. They discussed whether digital networking across organisations makes any sense at all. Networking is based on the exchange of information and requires communication, common goals and strategies and especially the will to work together. Ultimately, it depends on the specific needs, goals and context of the companies involved.

The participants then dealt with the question of what such a process could look like. They concluded that each networking process is individual and must be adapted to the organisations involved. Therefore, you should always start with an analysis of needs and goals.

The last question to be clarified was where risks or obstacles are seen in the implementation. It quickly became clear to the participants that a lack of trust can cause networking to fail. However, legal aspects can also represent limitations and make digital collaboration between companies more difficult. It is therefore of great importance to identify problems early and to take appropriate measures. Trust also plays an important role here.

d.velop products in use by our customers

Not only the stages were a highlight …

… but also, everything around it. Of course, there was a lot going on away from the stage – you definitely didn’t get bored at the d.velop forum 2023. The established gaming zone offered gamers the opportunity to connect while playing.

In addition, nobody should leave the d.velop forum without a souvenir photo. That’s why we decided on a 360° camera, which was very well received by all participants and of course, diligently shared on social media.

Research Hub & sponsor booths

This year, Marwin Meller, Product Marketing Manager d.velop, and Sophie Nacke, Director Product Excellence d.velop, presented our software in action. It was about the challenges of digital transformation and how we support our customers with d.velop documents and our services. The solution advances with multiple products were also an important part of the research hub. The innovations related to document management were also highlighted, utilising short video tutorials.

I firmly believe that together we will shape the future of document management.

Marwin Meller, Product Marketing Manager d.velop

And that is the key aspect about the Research Hub: thanks to your feedback on our software, we can now improve and further develop it. Together.

In addition to d.velop products, the participants had the opportunity to get to know some of our partners and their products. Of course, our main sponsor asseco was particularly well represented.

Eat, drink, listen & connect

More than half of the participants went to the annealing furnace hall at 7:00 p.m. There we were provided with delicious food, a few drinks and everyone had the opportunity to connect and talk about the eventful day.  DJ Phil Fuldner provided the “sounds”, whilst the catering team were responsible for the greatly received food. There was even the opportunity to climb up a climbing wall – and to get even higher, the winner could win a ride in the d.velop hot air balloon!
