In Germany, the formats XRechnung and ZUGFeRD from version 2.0.1 onwards have become established for this purpose, although certain profiles may deviate from the standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-beyondwords-marker=\"2734ab55-5502-4c30-b107-ff04c9f4a514\">This change affects not only the issuing but also the receiving of invoices: since the beginning of the year, companies must be technically capable of receiving e-invoices \u2013 without exception. Transitional periods apply to the issuing of invoices: until 31 December 2026, so-called \u201cother invoices\u201d may still be used. Small businesses with a previous year\u2019s turnover of no more than \u20ac800,000 benefit from an extended deadline until the end of 2027. After that, e-invoicing becomes mandatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-beyondwords-marker=\"4a094f19-b4a2-44c7-92c5-168c63b6118f\">This legal development highlights how important it is for companies to digitalise and automate their accounting processes.
