Purchase-to-pay process \u2013 maybe you\u2019re already familiar with the term, but for those who aren\u2019t: a P2P process doesn\u2019t have anything to do with peer-to-peer connection. Rather, it\u2019s a short form for \u201cpurchase to pay\u201d, sometimes also referred to as procure-to-pay. When we say P2P process, we mean the \u2018purchase to pay\u2019 process as it exists in corporate environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purchase-to-pay<\/strong> or procure-to-pay process<\/strong> is a sequence of steps that extend from procurement of products or services through to payment of the invoice. It includes a purchase requisition<\/strong>, a purchase order<\/strong> and order confirmation<\/strong>, then delivery<\/strong> and finally processing the invoice<\/strong>, along with all the associated verifications, approvals, and documents.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Why do organisations need an automated P2P Process?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The purchase to pay process covers three core areas within any organisation: procurement, goods receipt\/logistics, and finance & accounting. In addition, the process runs through various hierarchical levels within these departments. It is therefore common for a wide range of people and teams to be involved in the overall workflow. This leads to numerous individual steps and requires extensive coordination when handled manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
